A traditional Lao Basi ceremony was conducted to warmly welcome the eYAA (Empowering Youth Across ASEAN) volunteers alongside representatives from the ASEAN Foundation and Maybank Foundation.
The Basi is a sacred Lao cultural tradition performed to welcome guests, invoke blessings of good fortune, and foster unity. During the ceremony, participants receive white threads tied around their wrists as a symbol of goodwill, protection, and success.
This gathering served to express heartfelt gratitude to the delegates and volunteers while bestowing blessings for a smooth, successful, and impactful mission ahead.
